Gone were the long brown tresses and girlie makeup that we saw in her hit music videos such as “Hot and cold” and “I kissed a girl” and along comes a new Katy Perry, one that is sophisticated, incredibly sexy and almost powerful!

Replacing the long brown tresses, Katy Perry has opted for a very blunt cut bob; following the trend of many a celebrity as the style is currently celebrating its 100th birthday. A one length bob falling just below her chin, Katy has gone for a much darker look which when teamed with the bright red lipstick and crisp white suit screamed power lady rather than girlie girl.

Blunt bangs that stopped just short of her eyebrows completed the new look for the budding singer, showing off her stunning big blue eyes lightly framed with sharp black eyeliner and when looked at altogether, is a style that shows off just how sexy and versatile this young lady can be.
The Louise Brooks inspired bob was said to be prompted by the recent break down of her relationship and is sure to have men flocking for a date especially as the look is almost Betty Boop in style, classically sexy and smart with just a hint of naughtiness.

Longer bangs are in for 2009 and Liz certainly took this into account when visiting her hairdresser with bangs that just swept her massive blue eyes. The light backcombing that added a little height to the top of the hairstyle was just right for adding a little more glamour to the occasion and perhaps without this, the look wouldn’t have been quite so breath taking?

We have seen Drew Barrymore with a vast amount of hairstyles over the years from the scruffy and scraggly look that she sported while married to Tom Green to the rather groomed and blonde bombshell look that she sported while filming “Charlies Angels” However these days she seems to be far more groomed and elegant, leaving her wild child days behind her, and what a look she has!

Drew Barrymore wore her hair very simply at the new film premiere, with it all swept back from her face in a tight pony tail, looking glossy and shiny. The ponytail itself was flicked out at the ends to give a slightly different look that added a little bit more excitement and the hair band was neatly covered using an old trick that is sweeping the hair around the band to make the look much neater.

With a bandeau style dress it may have been a better idea for Drew to have worn her hair down in an elegant down style but the look that she has managed to look just right and with more complex makeup meant that it was neither too much or too little in the style stakes.

A short bob in a lovely blonde color and side swept bangs make her look very much a serious actress while still incorporating a bit of the fun and sexiness that we are used to seeing from her.

Sheridan Smith is not really known for her big film acting talent but rather her great TV performances yet her appearance at the Laurence Olivier awards showed a completely different side to her that was both sophisticated while still being frivolous and managing to make the rather fashionable bob look, that is very high in fashion this year, look almost as fabulous as the style Queen herself, Victoria Beckham!

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Olivia Palermo, Lucy Hale, and Ashley Tisdale. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Olivia Palermo’s Updated Classic Look

Style star Olivia Palermo attended Paris Fashion Week, looking both classically chic yet innovative and modern.

Olivia is known for mixing lower-end pieces with more expensive, designer items to create her looks, and her Paris Fashion Week ensemble was no different — Olivia wore a fabulous floral frock by Zara, which you might be able to pick up at your local mall! She accessorized with a statement necklace, studded bangles, a purple feather bag, and purple pumps, along with some cat-eye sunglasses.

As I previously said, Olivia’s dress is from Zara, so to recreate her look, you may want to start there. Zara doesn’t sell online, but you may have a store near you, or you could try eBay! This floral dress is beautifully cut in a classic and flattering shape, so it’s perfect for wearing for a multitude of occasions.

Take a cue from Olivia and use accessories to give the classic dress a trendy vibe. Start with a statement-making necklace, whether it be a bib necklace or one with large stones. Gold bangles are another whimsical touch; I’ve featured a studded bangle bracelet reminiscent of Olivia’s bangles. Cat-eye sunglasses are the perfect shape to complement the classic dress, and a feathered clutch gives the look a new texture. Complete the ensemble with pumps in a shade similar to that of your handbag.

Look 2: Lucy Hale’s Casual Cute

Star Lucy Hale wore a casual combo of dark skinny jeans and a top recently, but mixed in cute accessories and prints to make her look stand out. Her top features both lace and a floral print, with an asymmetrical hemline, and she wore some chunky open-toed clogs, along with a black cuff and beret hat over her loose braid.

Outfit Inspired by Lucy

To get Lucy’s look, transform your basic skinny jeans by adding an asymmetrical top with a fun floral print and lace detailing. A black beret and artsy cuff work well with the look and play on the black color in the top. Black slingback peep-toe clogs are a super cute shoe that will dress the look up a bit, but still maintain the casual, artsy vibe – you could always swap them for black flat sandals to go even more casual.

Look 3: Ashley Tisdale’s Indie Flare

Ashley Tisdale was spotted out and about in an outfit perfect for a summer day, combining bright colors and unique textures for a bit of an eclectic look. She wore frayed acid-washed denim shorts with a beaded belt and a bright tunic top, along with some brown leather cutout lace-up sandals.

Start off this look with a tunic-style top in a fun, bright color like Ashley’s. This Forever 21 option has embroidery around the neckline and pretty flowing sleeves. Acid-wash denim shorts from Topshop look particularly unique when paired with a colorful beaded belt. Finally, some flat brown cutout sandals and basic sunglasses will have you ready for a day out in the sun.
